The Manfrotto 014-14 Rapid Adapter is a locking adapter that fits any light stand with a 5/8″ top stud, and will allow vertical or horizontal mounting of a light fixture, flash, or camera that has a 1/4″-20 threaded receptor.
I’ll mount this accessories on the end of a C-Stand boom arm and attach a DSLR camera to it and then you’ll get a camera view that looks straight down for an overhead shot. This is ideal for food photography. It’s highly recommended to shoot tethered with this kind of setup. You can also mount a tripod head to the rapid adapter such as Manfrotto 234RC tilt head with a quick release plate.
