Manfrotto 055XPROB Tripod
The Manfrotto 055XPROB is a large but affordable professional tripod designed for general-purpose use. It’s one of the tallest models in the range, and feels the part with its aluminium construction. Like most higher-end tripods, the 055XPROB does not come with a head as a standard. Instead it features a plate onto which you can mount a wide variety of optional heads to match your exact requirements.
The 055XPROB makes the famous Manfrotto-patented horizontal center column feature even easier to use. By extending the column to its highest vertical position, it can be swung round to horizontal without removing the head or disassembling the column itself, so switching between framing and positioning setups is more convenient than ever. The ergonomics of the leg angle release mechanism and the quick action leg locks themselves have also been greatly improved.
The Manfrotto 055XPROB is a smart-looking tripod finished in black. The leg tubes and centre column are made of aluminium with a smooth finish. Aluminium is a traditional and familiar material used to construct tripods, so most photographers will know what to expect from the 055XPROB in terms of look, feel and weight. The aluminium 055XPROB weighs 2.4 Kkg and can handle up to 7 kg of maximum load.
